SOAR is proud to be part of the Camp War Eagle family -- NWA’s premier sports and adventure camp that invites all kids in Northwest Arkansas to experience the beauty of our community through outdoor adventure, with people of all backgrounds, celebrating service to others. We met some amazing kids and families through camp and made the decision to bring the life-changing experience of Camp War Eagle to some of our region's most promising, yet challenged communities - every day, after school.

Following a character-based educational curriculum, SOAR opened its first site at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale for Jones Elementary students and was funded by the Walton Family Foundation in the Spring of 2013.

SOAR became a recipient of 21st Century Learning Grants provided by the U.S. Department of Education in 2014 for Jones and added Parson Hills Elementary Schools while still being supported by the Walton Family Foundation. In 2015 SOAR expanded to Grace Hill Elementary in Rogers.

As a 21st Century Learning site, SOAR is required to adopt scientifically-based practices and operate in schools where at least 40% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunches. All 3 SOAR sites have free/reduced lunch percentages of 85% or higher.
